Negotiation Planner

Purpose: This is a one-page worksheet you fill out before you talk to the other party. It organizes your thoughts and ensures you don’t forget your goals or limits during the pressure of the negotiation.

How to Use It: Before any important negotiation, take 30 minutes to complete this planner. Key sections should include:

  • My Ideal Outcome (What I want)

  • My Walk-Away Point (The least I will accept)

  • My BATNA (What I will do if there is no deal)

  • Their Likely Interests (What I think they want and why) Their Likely BATNA

  • Possible Win-Win Options I can propose

Supplier Agreement Checklist

Purpose: This checklist ensures you don’t forget to discuss and agree upon crucial details when finalizing an agreement with a supplier. A verbal agreement on price is not enough.

How to Use It: Use this as a guide during your negotiation or before signing any contract. It should include points like:

  • Product/Service: Exact specifications and quality standards.

  • Price: Price per unit, and any conditions for discounts.

  • Payment Terms: When is payment due? (e.g., on delivery, 30 days later).

  • Delivery: When, where, and how will goods be delivered? Who pays for transport?

  • Quality Issues: What happens if the products are defective? (e.g., return, replacement).

Contract Length: How long is this agreement for?
